I’m looking forward to seeing what Northampton can put together team wise for next year when they have the same opportunity as everyone else. The setup looks good there, and dare I say it, the club looks to have good potential! The crowd remains decent by all accounts, despite a poor team and poor results.

Fantastic first visit to Northampton - great meeting well done both sides. once the track was graded after heat 2 there were some really good overtakes. It’s a shame it’s a 2 hr drive for me as I would be very happy to go again more regularly.
Mention to Batch - looked keen and was mixing it last night. Also Pickering pulled off some great passes and Leon Flint who had done nothing all night pulled off a great race in heat 14 to win on the run to the line! Great stuff!
Maybe it is time for the one rider over eight points rule in the top tier?
It may financially alllow a couple of teams to move up and compete, and stop the big advantage of two riders of that level usually appearing in 10 of the 30 places the fifteen heat system brings..
It would also mean that if you couldn't get one, two seven plus riders would still mean a decent spearhead against a team with a "big hitter"..
